Today I figured lets build up some confidence by doing reverse band squats. Overall this was a pretty good workout, even though I am not pushing 100%. The progress is encouraging.

Low box squats (in squat briefs):
135 x 8
225 + heavy reverse bands x 5
315 + heavy reverse bands x 4
405 + heavy reverse bands x 2
425 + heavy reverse bands x 2
435 + heavy reverse bands x 1

Sitting GMs:
95 x 15
95 x 15
100 x 15

GHRs:
30 x 15
50 x 12
50 x 12

Hip abduction machine:
Half rack x 12 x 8 sets

Default Tues Sept 6th 2011

DE bench. I need to reinforce the triceps, so this DE bench was done off of a 3'' foam pad. Overall the weight was moving fast, and my form is getting better. It is still hard to have a good back arch due to the stitching from my surgery. To help with that, I stuck 45 pds plates under my feet. I also threw in some singles at the end of the DE bench, because in a few weeks I will be working up to a circa max day and doing heavy singles with bands. Here are the details of today's workout:

Bench press:
bar x 10
135 x 5
135 + light bands x 3 x 3 sets (3'' foam pad) close grip
145 + light bands x 3 x 3 sets (3'' foam pad) medium grip
160 + light bands x 3 x 3 sets (3'' foam pad) regular grip
180 + light bands x 1 x 3 sets (3'' foam pad) regular grip

JM presses:
bar x 10
100 x 8
100 x 10 (rep PR)
100 x 10

DB cross-body extensions:
35 x 6 each arm
35 x 7 each arm
35 x 8 each arm

Hammer curls:
50 x 9
50 x 10
50 x 10

Yeah, a bit. Just can't get that "mega arch" out of my bench press. But heck, that's very minor, and getting better by the hour. Not a reason for me to complain. When my arch is back, it will feel like I'm doing board presses.

Default Thurs Sept 8th 2011

DE low box squats:
(all these sets were done in powerlifting briefs)
135 x 8
135 + heavy bands x 5
225 + heavy bands x 2 x 6 sets
230 + heavy bands x 2 x 6 sets

Speed pulls:
225/225/315/315

Reverse hypers:
Half rack + medium bands x 12 x 3 sets

That's all folks. Overall this was a decent workout. The squats were moving fast, so next week I will probably increase the weight and decrease the number of sets.
