What do your warmup sets look like?
Thanks btb!! My warmups looked like this today and I was tight to start:
135x2x10
225x5, 3
315x4
Work sets

I really do not have a set warm up, I do enough to get loose and I just go on how I feel that day. Most days I do a set of hyperextensions before I squat, but I kinda forgot today so I did an extra set with 135

Thanks SO, feeling strong.

By the way, my weight is at 222 right now, I weighed in on Friday afternoon. I had no idea I was gaining weight. I definitely see some size coming in, and lately I have been extremely hungry.

The older I get the longer I need to warmup so I'm always curious how others are doing it.

Wendler suggests in 5/3/1 doing:
1x5 at 40%
1x5 at 50%
1x3 at 60%
then work sets

this does not seem like very much warm ups, but I think he also does a lot of foam rolling and general warm ups

That's more like my style. For squats, I am usually warmup like this:
(Buffalo bar weighs 55)

Bar x 5
145 x 5
145 x 5
235 x 3
285 x 1
325 x 1
365 x 1

When I was doing 405 ala Hepburn, the first few sets were tough but the last 6 became easier as my CNS got in line with the demands.

I like your style of warm ups steve, looks good. Plenty to get the CNS going

Looking real good on those squats bro. Anything over the 5 rep limit for Squats high or not is pushing it for me, even though lately I been breaking those boundaries! Great way to start off the program! Hope you yield great success from it.

Wednesday Conditioning Day

10 Hill Sprints
I have not ran in a while and my legs were already sore. Very limited rest with these felt good to do some cardio.

Blast Strap work
Mostly core stuff and 2 sets of push ups

Good recovery day, looking forward to getting back in the gym tomorrow. I am really going to take Wendler's advice and only go to the gym 4 days a week, so that I look forward to each workout and can not wait to get back into the gym. So far so good, getting good rest, I really want to crush this competition, and I think I may have found a routine for life!
