Friday ME Bench w/ SHIRT

Bench Press
155x10
245x8
put shirt on here
3 Board Press
315x3
2 Board Press
345x1
365x1
No boards
370x1 easy, PR
380x1 PR, barely got this

Using a shirt was very awkward for the first time, the shirt I wore was loose and had weird gaps. I am not built for a normal bench shirt so I am told. I would need to get one custom fitted, bench shirts are meant for powerlifters. I am not built like a powerlifter, my shoulders are too wide and my abdomen is too small. O well, it was fun, I got a 15 pound PR, now my goal is to beat the shirt!

Close Grip Bench
135x15
185x10
205x10
225x8
255x3
5 singles with 255

I got some good close grip work in, I think I need to work on my close grip, not sure where I will add it in. I am definitely going to add in floor presses and lockouts on mondays, I will do each one every other week. I do not think these will really effect anything, I will just do some singles or triples.

Overall still a very fun workout, I think if I worked with a shirt more and found the groove more I could get a lot out of it.

Yes, it was fun, but it was very awkward. Felt good to bench more than 365 though I have been stuck there for a while and I think this will give me the confidence to get it without a shirt.

I forgot to mention that this morning I did 5 sets of 5 of jump squats with 135 and 3 sets of 5 reps with 135 on hang cleans. Felt good to get up and good moving. I felt more ready to go when we benched. I will see how this works out in the next couple of weeks.

Nice numbers JW, Ill have a similar training session like that tomorrow. As far as the shirt, one type doesn't fit all, took all my measurements sent them in and after five shirts got one that somewhat fit...lol Titan was very patient, they said that I was an oddity.

Thanks Gaspers, I am not too concerned with getting shirted lifting right. Maybe one day I will, but for now I am going to continue to focus on raw benching. And I will probably just throw a shirt on every once in a while for a goof.

Sunday DE Lower Body

Speed Squats plus 2 sets of chains
12 sets of 2 reps
225x5 sets
245 x 2 sets
275x 3 sets
295 x 1 set
315 x 1 set
These felt good, started slow but finished strong

Rack Pulls below the knee, but a bit higher than mid shin
225x3
315x2
405x1
455x1
495x1
405x4
These felt good, have not held heavy weight in a while. I am not a huge fan of rack deads, I am pretty sure I can deadlift more than I can pull off a rack. but it is a good way to get heavy weight in my hands

Pullups
BW x 10
plus 25 x 8
plus 45 x 6 PR, 5, 5
These reps were more controlled than usual focused on hitting the back muscles hard instead of jerking around

Weighted hyperextensions
bw x 15
plus 25 x 10
plus 75 x 10, 10
used a small bar across my back, never did this before but they felt really good. kind of like a more challenging good morning

AB Circuit 3 times through
decline sit ups holding a 35 x 20
ab twist x 20
ab coaster x 20

Same here. I wish I knew why. I see guys rack pulling 200+ over their deadlift and it baffles me.

Stay strong!
