If you plan on going for reps with "X" amount of weight, try either a couple singles prior, or a walkout with "X + 10%".

If you are going to do an all out set with 200 pounds (for example), do a walkout and 3-5 second hold first with 220 + 10%, or 220 pounds. This only works on squats and bench...exercises like that.
