Yep. I responded in that thread. As luck would have it, I'm off work the following week. Might be a good vacay for me (and the family (I guess)). I'm a little bashful about my BP though. If I had some OK numbers I would throw in for sure. As it is, put me down for a possible maybe. I sure would love to do it just for the chops. It would be great to have plenty of friends around too for support.

The prospect of an actual meet invigorated my session this afternoon. Renewed prupose. What a tonic.

I also had a brief moment of despair. There's this one dude at the gym. I'll call him Tattoo Guy. His name is actually Mike. People call him "Big Mike," which is a misnomer, because there's another Mike (Black Mike) who is bigger than Big Mike, but no one wants to call him "Black Mike" (for obvious reasons). I'll just continue to call "Big Mike" Tattoo Guy (also for obvious reasons). Anyhoo, as I was catching my breath between squat sets, I noticed Tattoo Guy benching. He was moving some pretty serious weight. The most I had ever seen in person. I made a low whistle and shook my head. I did a quick calculation and said, "Oh, ****." He was benching for easy reps the same weight that almost killed me last week on deadlifts. I felt so small and insignificant.

* = I used a pause and pop style on my warm up sets. It really felt good and explosive. Hopefully it will bust me to a new 5RM in a couple of weeks. I intended to do the same on my max set, but it turned out to be more of a touch and go.

Chinups (palms facing me) 1/1/1/1/x (x = partial rep). Actually the first four sets were 1+ reps. I realize that if I had actuall lost five pounds instead of gaining five pounds the last two months, I might be repping out by now. **sigh**

Despite the discouragement of watching someone bench press what i deadlift, it was a very good session. The Testosterone was abundant in the room. Made for a great environment in which to workout.

Thank you marco. I love those lifts. Not many people deadlift or squat deep at my gym. Kinda makes me stick out a bit, but I like it.

Yeah i go to an La Fitness so i know how you feel. To others Powerlifting is weird, but to me its perfectly normal so idc. Sticking out isnt a bad thing..

I train at a YMCA. Mostly just a bunch of meathead posers. THere are a few good people though, but mostly just people watching themselves in the mirror.

You are moving some great weight buddy. i love the write ups in your log, always entertaining

Your gym sounds like mine, the benches laid out in fron of the mirror are always rammed full, but that suits me as the squat rack which doesnt face the mirror is mainly unsed. I am sure it had actual cobwebs on it when i trained yesterday as i hadnt been there for a week

Your workouts are looking solid. i would love to see you compete. The weights you lift doesnt matter really, you more than anyone, would be competing against yourself and to do it surounded by the rest of MAB would be a fantastic vacation for sure
