I had mentioned this recently, but right now I think I could work the big lifts much more infrequently and still make very good progress.

Yep, as long as you're trained and keep training, there's probably no reason why an intermediate to advanced lifter can't spread out training frequency - AS LONG AS THE SESSIONS TRAINED ARE WORTHWHILE. I find I need to squat frequently though. I don't go heavy all the time, but I squat every session mostly to "keep my legs." If I go a week without squatting, well, DOMS can be a bitch. I really miss not being able to do rack deads. They replaced the squat rack a couple of years ago and now I can't adjust the safety bars below my knees. I used to like to alternate between floor pulls and rack pulls.

All is well here in God's Country. I really did miss not being able to get together with you and jslep back in February. I hope we can meet up again. Maybe a home and home series at Miller Park and Target Field? Hockey's gonna kick my butt this summer...yes, this summer. My little goalie starts the first Friday in June and goes every week until mid August, then there's a camp that runs one week in June, July, and August. The real season starts in October. If this goalie thing works out, she may get to be on a traveling team next season. Two years ago this was the furthest thing from my mind.

Thanks man. Travail never felt so good. Had a minor success on BP early last week, but bombed out last Thursday. I just reset to get another run. I am now officially training the lift.

One of the final remnants of my childhood died today.

A few months ago I made a rather emotional journal entry when it was made known that Minnesota Twins great, Harmon Killebrew, had esophageal cancer. I talked then about my feelings about cancer. About how it took my boyhood hero's cancer to help me come to grips with my own. I can not overstate how devastated I was at that time, and again this past weekend when it was announced that Harmon had given up his battle and had entered hospice care.

Harmon left us this morning. My prayer list is shorter. My burden is now lighter. My childhood is all but vanished.

Here's my training from Wednesday. I got home from the gym and was so tired that I showered and went right to bed. Didn't bother posting. That seems to be my MO lately. For the record though, I didn't sleep worth a hoot. I was hot and uncomfortable. Tossed and turned all night. Kept my wife awake too. That was my second lost night this week.
