Thanks, tomahawk. I'm doing ok. It's going to be a looooooong bounce back. I'm not sweating the Mayo trip much. They'll either recommend radiation, or they won't. Either way, I don't think I should interpret it as a death sentence. From what I understand, there's not much to the radiation therapy. People tell me that it takes longer to find a parking spot than it does to have the procedure done. It just eats up six weeks of my life. I can probably expect a sore throat, which funny, I've had all along.

Thank you, Rich. I have moments of ecstacy followed by moments of despair. The trick is to have more of the former than the latter. That's difficult, because for some reason I get very depressed this time of year. I'm not sure why.

Gads, I was a bit of a chow hound today. Up until today I had all I could do to "choke down" even less than 50 calories. Today got off to a slow start, but after a brief nap, I woke up hungry. I was helped alon by an Inta Juice Power Protein smoothie (560 calories/42g protein). I managed a couple of eggs and some grtis for breakfast as well. Good food day.

Training

Cuban Rotations and Presses (no weight -- motion only)
8x3

Box Squats (15" box)
BWx8x3

I'm ready to ramp it up a bit either by adding weight or reps. I'm almost ready to hit the gym as well for some treadmill, arm bike, and empty bar squatting. I don't know that my shoulder will allow me enough ROM to grip the bar for squats though. I'm kind of afraid to try.

Trumpet

I put in 30 minutes today. I got my range stretched out over 2-1/2 octaves, which covers the entire practical range of the instrument. I now have all the notes I need to build a solid foundation, which is what I'll concentrate on for the next week or so BEFORE I try to stretch out the high range to where it once was.

Going to Rochester in the morning to see if I need radiation therapy.

What can I say? I have a two year old, and goldfish are always in the house. I was enjoying my morning coffee, spotted them on the counter, and thought, "Dang, there's a flavor combination that I miss." Tomorrow I'm going for the folded over peanut butter sandwich and a glass of milk.
