thanks guys. i was thinking about it, but as i thought about it more i realized after the lay off id prolly do best to just work on mass to rebuild whatever muscle ive lost as quickly as possible. again pulling from dan john heres a workout i like and will probably use

Mon
BB row*
Bench Press*
Breathing squat- 1x20

Thurs
Deadlift*
Push Press*
Breathing squat-1x20

*these exercises would be performed using a 5x3 protocol ramping the weight up to the final heavy set for as many as possible. When 6 reps are achieved with a weight then 5-10ibs will be added at the next workout.

Looks good Grim. So you do four sets of three and then go all out for one set? Do you increase the first few sets once you hit six on the last one also?
