Default The road to recovery, Glwanabe's log

Back to a 5x5 scheme, and build my strength back up.

Today was to see how I felt and worked some weights I though I could handle.

Squats.

1x10@135
1x5@155
1x5@185
1x5@205
1x5@225

Deads.

2x5@205

Bench.
1x5@135
1x5@185
1x5@205

Press.
1x5@95
1x5@115


I'll see how I feel tomorrow, and then maybe hit it on Thursday or Friday.

Next week I'll return to a real 5x5 program, and build from there. It will be a very abreviated program, and I have not decided on fullbody or A/B split, but I'm leaning to go back to the A/B split.

Thanks Steve, I appreciate the comment. I have been missing not hitting it like I had been. Several people have called my old over the last few days, and that kinda pissed me off as well. One of those people was my 12yr old, and she did it just to be mean, in a playful way.

Needless to say, but in very short order she was taking it back saying I didn't mean it, ok, your not old. I taught her a lesson.

I know how you feel. I had some turd on Facebook say I looked like crap. More fuel to the fire, boy and girls.

I know this is OT, but I get so sick of a few arrogant "chemically inflated buffoons" attacking people because they don't have equivalent size, or because they are old. So many young guys think old farts play by the same rules.

Anyway. Comments like the one you received...even playful...are never easy for me to receive. I wouldn't say it's insecurity so much as the desire to achieve what I'm not supposed to achieve.

I've also gotten the age old, Squats are bad for you, BS. This by people who are overweight, and can't lift what I can curl.

"F" all of them, I'm going to come back and be stronger than I was before.

My neighbor will constantly give me that crap....squats are bad for you. He is 5'11", 140 pounds, 50 years old, and looks like he swallowed a basketball. I feel like responding..."sitting on your arse is worse."
