Once I warmed up everything was fine with the exception of my thumb knuckles - still pretty raw from the hook grip. I taped both knuckles on my thumbs today and it seemed to help. The major contributing factor to the thumb soreness is the women's bar. I have big hands and never had a problem with a regulation sized bar. The women's bar feels like a toothpick.

As for the soreness, I'm taking the Broz approach and just gutting my way through it. There is going to be a LOT of squatting in my future...

Women don't use the mens bar at all in competition. I'm stuck with it.

Felt like absolute dog **** on my way into the gym, but this turned out to be a half decent workout. I'm still ridiculously sore though.

You feel sluggish all day? Or overly hungry?

Great workout.

No, not sluggish. Incredibly sore, but once I started moving that was fine. Appetite today was normal. Yesterday, however, I could have eaten a horse.

Training is looking good. One year I will try out oly lifting to work on my damn clean and more importantly my damn overhead press. Good stuff, I found Squatting in Oly shoes makes a whole hell of a lot difference.

According to UPS my sweet new pair of Do-Wins should be here tomorrow. I was having some difficulty with the OHS in regular shoes, my coach seems to think the Oly shoes will help loads.
