MikeC's Minimal Log of Lifting

I keep it simple. I've been lifting for a long time, am not the strongest guy in the world, but I make due. I don't overtrain because I don't need to. I try to do the minimum necessary to make gains, and after a decade, I pretty much have this figured out. I never switch routines, and rarely switch exercises.

Here goes.

I forgot to mention I train every 3rd day.

April 17th Push Day

Bench Press - 135 x 10, 185 x 5, 225 x 5, 280 x 16
Flyes - 35 x 25

Seated Military Press - 45 x 10, 95 x 10, 135 x 5, 185 x 19
Side Laterals - 35 x 20

Skullcrushers - 45 x 10, 95 x 5, 125 x 17

Mike,

Thanks for putting up a journal. I really like your minimalistic approach. I'm looking forward to seeing what you're doing. Maybe I can learn.

Nice workout. 280 for 16? In one set? You've got my attention.

^ Ditto and ditto. Welcome to the forum (again) and looking forward to your log. Looks like your heavy sets really count big.

Nice numbers. I'm looking forward to seeing how the rest of your program looks.

Didn't expect this warm of a welcome. Thanks everyone. To answer the question about my program, I stick to a push-pull-legs style and do one heavy set per exercise.

Great group of people here Mike.

Keeping it simple is something I really like. Your definately further along than I am, but I like your approach.
