Thanks, Steve, but I want a little more ROM, next time.

Also, I forgot to put this into my log for the bench session, last week:

Do you get much thigh rub? Those suckers nearly tear my flesh off, even with 2 layers of sweats.

No, I only have occasional problems with callouses tearing on my hands.

01.30.12

Back Squat: 1 set of 28 with 225 (6-8 rep PR)

^ This was a very significant PR in terms of reps, but I haven't done an all-out squat set with 225 since 2008, if I recall correctly. Also, I probably left at least 1-2 reps in the tank.

- I would've had video, but my camera fell to the floor during that set. It's still functional, but that was annoying.

Standing Unilateral Leg Curl: 3 sets of 8, each leg, with 90

Cybex Donkey Calf Raise: 3 sets of 15 with 230

02.01.12

Pause Bench Press: 5 sets of 3 with 225

Standing Two Dumbbells Press: 8,7,6 with 65s

Flat Dumbbell Fly: 3 sets of 11 with 50s

EZ-Bar Skullcrusher: 8,7,6 with 90

Two Dumbbells Crucifix Press 3 sets of 8 with 30s

02.04.12

Deadlift: 3 sets of 1 with 455 + 120 in chains

Romanian Deadlift: 3 sets of 5 with 315

Pause Bench Press: 1 set of 1 with 240

^ Tony (BodybyGamma) was helping me improve my bench technique, and I think we fixed it. Using the improved form, we worked up to 240 which was a little struggle, but that's probably because I did the 5 pause triples with 225, three days prior.

Underhand Pull-Up: 1 set of 5 with BW+100

Seated Cable Row: 1 set of 11 with 300

Index/Middle Finger Deadlift: 1 set of 1 with 309 (PR)

^ This was after one or two failed attempts.

02.05.12

Tire Flip: 1 set of 1 with 800-1000

^ I went for a walk with my girlfriend around her neighborhood in Long Island. After a while, we arrived at her gym which has a massive tire. They close early on the weekends, and she wanted to see if I could flip it, so I decided to try it, spur of the moment. Neither of us knows how much it weighs, but 800-1000 is my best estimate, based on the tires at my powerlifting/strongman gym in Queens. I wasn't successful during the first bunch of attempts because the area was wet from water that was in the tire, but I eventually did it when I found a patch of dry ground.

Great tire flip pic

Do you ever do, or have you ever done, the middle finger deadlift with just the one hand? Mostly, all that can be found when searching "middle finger deadlift" is the two-handed versions, these days.

Thanks. Yeah, that's basically what I told my girlfriend right after I flipped it.

Thank yew. No, I never tried that. Maybe I'll do it with my kettlebells at home, or a barbell at the gym. I know Hermann Görner did the middle finger deadlift with a bar, but with both hands. On a related note, I've done the pinky finger lift at home, using the IronMind metal ring, loading pin, and some weight. It was 60lbs total. Possibly able to do more. I only tried that once.

With small hands, I have a problem due to the wide handle structures on BBs and KBs with the finger lifts; the pinky finger, in particular though I managed the 18lbs KB. I got myself a pair of Eagle Loops which I may try around one of the heavier KBs, though the loops are still wide but at least they give some grip potential unlike a small hand and a smooth slippery handle.

I may even get to try the BB 1-finger deadlift, now that the loops will permit me to at least pick the thing up, beforehand, I couldn't even get the finger around the barbell because the other fingers stand in the way; tiny hands cause their own complications
