600 will be an awesome PR. I'm 170lbs, so I'll need to cut 5lbs for my next meet, but that's still a while longer, either November or December.

08.14.11

I did a bunch of closes with my HG250 and COC#2 grippers, alternating hands. I also wanted to do some kettlebell lifting outside, which I haven't done in a long time, but the weather was still sh*tty.

Sure, but it's not time for that. 5lbs is a relatively easy cut. When it gets to be ~10lbs, I might move up. Besides, I haven't achieved that elite raw total @ 165. I need 1300 (1298) and my current PR is 1240 from the May meet.

08.19.11

I did some pinch grip work with my block weights, both hex and blob types. Getting back into it after not touching them for years. Just did some deadlift singles with my 31lb York blob, alternating hands, and finished with a hold.


08.20.11

I decided to forgo the clean or snatch because I was feeling the effects of a hang-over from the previous night, so I began the session with hack lifts which I was originally intending to do second.

Hack Lift: 3 sets of 1 with 508 (13lb PR)

Shrug: 3 sets of 10 with 545

Standing Angled Calf Raise: 3 sets of 15 with 200

Straight-Leg Sit-Up: 3 sets of 10 with BW+10

^ plate held against back of my head

Jacob's Ladder: 3 minutes and 0 seconds (45 second PR)

08.21.11

I did some plate curls with a 25lb plate. Like the block weights, I'm getting back into this too. It's great for the wrist, primarily, along with the forearm, hand, fingers, and thumb.

Late at night, I also did some dexterity ball rotations with both levels, #1 (standard Chinese balls) and #2 (1.32lb iron balls).

I've also had a sore throat for the past couple of days. I hope it goes away before I test my deadlift 1RM, probably either Friday or Saturday, the 26th or 27th.
