02/17/2010: CRAP Day

Workout Time: 40 minutes?

Workout Grade: B

Nothing difficult about this workout. I need to find ways to make training these bodyparts engaging. This might involve a sheer, mind blowing volume. Why not? Training traps and calves to me is almost like brushing teeth...I don't want to miss them and have these bodyparts stand out as weak.

I know my calves are big, but my legs are bigger and make my calves look underdeveloped.

I backed off on curl weight to test my tendinitis. It's feeling a little better. I needed to not rush weight for biceps.

DB Curls - 60 Seconds rest
50's x 10/10/6/5/4

BB Shrugs
225 x 8
405 x 10
500 x 6
500 x 6
405 x 10
405 x 10

Standing BB Calf Raises
225 x 20
225 x 15
225 x 12

nice workout.

i just noticed another good thing about your split. you hold a lot of weight with shrugs and also have the weight on your back for calves.

its smart how you seperate this from your heavy back and legs day.

your a sharp cookie.

I'm feeling really good today. This was like a de-load day. Nothing taxing, and like a working rest.

Thanks Kman.

I am actually near out of weight. I need to buy 2 more 45's. 530 is my limit at home. I haven't seriously run with heavy shrugs in a while, so I'll probably slowly try to move up to 600 by Summer or so.

You and your "deload" days. *shakes head in disbelief*

Sorry man

When you have 20+ years under your belt, you'll probably have bigger numbers than those.

To be honest, anything that's not a squat day feels like a de-load day for me right now. I have been feeling oddly strong on deadlifts lately, like I could do more volume.

Thanks Jwood. Tomorrow will be the first real "man day". I am going to try and kill myself with squats.

I'm thinking of nailing a couple sets out of the gate with 405, then doing a couple with 365. Then maybe doing singles with 315, resting only minimal between, until I puke.
