Thanks, SO. I'm not 100% yet and probably won't be for a while. We'll see what transpires next week at Mayo. I'm going to keep hitting the weights. For now, I may just put things in a holding pattern for a couple of weeks. Squat just enough to keep my legs from going all DOMSy once I get back to smashing. "Active recovery" I'll call it.

Big credit for lifting under the circumstances Val. I really hope you get this ironed out, and ironed out quickly.

Thanks, BTB. I'm sick of this, man. I really am. I guess Wednesday is "Do or Die Day."

The band played a show last night. Went pretty well with a substitute drummer and all. It was an outdoor affair. A storm started moving in at the end of the night. We were able to watch lightning as this thing was getting closer. We finished the show, tore down our equipment and got it packed up (including sound and lights) in about 20 minutes. I think that's a record in the 10 piece band world.

Kind of a blah day today. On the one hand the lawn could use some mowing. On the other hand I could go to the gym and do some light OHP's. On yet another hand I could use some nappage. By the many arms of Vishnu, I have no idea what to do.

I completed my online registration for my visit to Mayo. Then I looked up my doctor's profile. Stupidest thing I could have done. Sure, he's an Ear, Nose and Throat specialisat, but he's published many articles and studies on "cancer this", and "cancer that." I'm getting nervous. I wasn't before.

On a POSITIVE note. I was flipping channels yesterday afternoon and found that the NFL Network is now carrying a Canadian Football game of the week. Life is good a-gain, eh?

Life is good, with an additional 10 yards!

Thanks, BTB. I'll take the additional 10 yards, if you're offering.

Sunday, 7/11/10

I decided to quit whining, and finish what I started. I have one more deload workout to go for this cycle. 'twould be a shame to let it go to waste. After today, who knows? Monday and Tuesday night are booked. Wednesday night...maybe, depends on how the day goes. So I lifted light, and we'll let the chips fall where they may for the rest of the week.

Cycle 4 Deload

OHP
50x5
60x5
70x5

Bodyweight Dips
8x2

Smith BTN Press
45x10
110x6
110x5

Smith RGBP
45x10
135x10
160x8x2

Cybex Tricep Machine
75x10x2

I did not take any set to failure. The BTN Presses got close.

I really don't know what to do now. There's not much point in jumping into a new cycle until the health deal gets ironed out. Regardless, the rest of this week looks hectic, and the first half of next week also. I haven't had any appreciable time off lifting for over a year (unusual for me). I also can't remember what it feels like to be pain free. It might be time fo ME to take an "All-Star Break."

And so I will. I'll let the back, legs, shoulders, and neck recover. Let the throat improve. Get my mind back on the important things.

So I'll close out this journal (or this portion of it anyway) by signing off in true Rest/Pause fashion. I'll end it with a comma,
