Bring the Smack talk. MY 12yr old was lifting Saturday. She can run over 2 miles, and normally leaves the boys in the dust.



As far as having my priorities straight. I've had a serious discussion with my Wife, about my future plans, and what I want to accomplish. She supports me totally in my plans.

I had a Family talk yesterday at dinner, and explained this contest and what it meant. I've been given my marching orders, WIN!


I'm all about planning,and making things work. I have the time during the day planned out as to when I train. Even if my Wife is off on a training day. That training time is for training.

Allright so this is my thought process behind my evolved routine.

It is an A/B split, basically wholebody workout.

I have 4 main power movements:

Full Squats
Bent leg Deads
Flat Bench
Standing Presses

I have several other assistance lifts

BB bent rows
BHN press
BB Curl
Close Grip Bench
Chins/Dips
Calf Raises


Both the A, and B will comprise 2 heavy movements, and 3 assistance moves.

The heavy moves will be a 5x5 style with a med/hvy finish flush set.

The assistance will vary between 3x10, and 3x8


This routine combines several differnet elements that I've been looking at. I ran thru the A program today, and had a very good session. As always progression is king.


Typical A session

Squat
5x5
1x20

Bench
5x5
1x15

BB rows
3x10

BHN Press
3x10

BB curl
3x8

Typical B session

Deads
5x5
1x15

Standing Press
5x5
1x10

Close Grip Bench
3x10

Chins/Dips
5x

calf raise
3x15-20

I like the set scheme and approach. What's the deal with chins/dips? Is that a superset?

Thats what I'm thinking, superset them. I have my gymnastic rings as well. Dips utilizing the rings are WAY harder than the bars, and you can really nail those triceps.

I'm going to try for a straight across the week intensity. I think I can handle the two heavy moves, and the medium moves straight across. If not then Wednesday will just be a 3x10 as it has been.

If you don't go the edge you can't find the limit.
