Default MG75s Training Log

Started SL on Dec 6th. No deloads yet. Squat, started at 95lbs now at 145lbs. Bench started at 115lbs now at 140lbs. Deadlift started at 115lbs now at 155lbs. O Press 65lbs now at 85lbs. Barbell row 80lbs now at 105lbs. Weight is just starting to feel somewhat challenging except for bench- still feels light.

Puny compared to what you guys pull/ lift but progress. I turned 40 last year and I have not consistently lifted for 15+ years so I am taking the slow and easy approach!

Goals for this year are 250lb bench, 300lb squat, and 350 deadlift. Long term is 300lb bench, 400lb squat and 450 deadlift.

Training question: although my weights are light I am thinking of competing in some small local powerlifting meets starting in March as a motivator. I am thinking at this point I am better to stick with SL until the gains stop rather than prepping for the meet in March. Not likely to win and I would be better served building overall strength. What are you guys thoughts?

I think you're right, just keep doing linear progressive overload with the big lifts...and just have fun on your meet.
Welcome!

Thanks! So far SL has been great. I have also been actively tracking calories and trying to eat healthy to maximize gains. I want to cut fat, not so much weight.

Bench: 95x8 135x6 160 5x5

Thanks guys! I joined the 100% Raw Federation. They have 4 events within 20 miles of home so I plan to participate in all four. The first one is March 6th.

1-14-15 B Side
Squat: 75x8 115x6 135x6 190 5x5
Overhead Press: 75x8 110 5x5
Deadlift: 205x5

Yesterday was one those great days were all the weights felt light and the sets easy! So tempted to add sets and or weight- must stick to the program!
