Default MindofShadow Gym Rat/Powerlifting Log

Howdy.

Have a USAPL meet coming up in about 6 weeks. Current best total is 1260@181 (24hr weight in, was actually closer to 198), doing this meet at 205 and hoping for a 1350 total.

This was yesterdays Squat workout.


RJorg Curls

Band TKE

Squats, belt: 415x3@9.5, 415x3@10

Box Squats, oly shoes: 315x5x3@8

Chest Supported Row: 135x8x5

Kirk Shrugs

One Arm Planks

Calf Raise

Band Straight Arm Pull Down



- Dealing with (another) knee issue so I am babying my squats a bit (usually much more aggressive on the decent and rebound) but all in all, got the reps in which is all that matters. Drop to doubles next week.

Hey Dustin,

I have a back-cracker question for you. You're 6 weeks out and in a month I'm going to start a 7 week prep for a meet.

If everything is feeling good (but a little banged up) is there anything you would recommend from a chiropractor as preventive manipulation prior to making an assault?

Have you been to this chiro before or is this a "first time" sort of thing?

First time doing TnG bench press since I F'd my shoulder in December...


RJorg Curls: 3 sets

Bench Press: 320x1@8. 335x1@9, 350x1@10
- My tng bench isn't much higher than my paused bench press right now if at all.

Close Grip Bench Press: 265x5x3@8.5
Pull Ups: BWx10x3
Hammer Curls: 3 sets
Band Ext: 6 sets
Band Upright Row to ER: 50 RP

I will have to get a video next week of them. The only video i have seen is on Instagram and IDK how to go back and find stuff on there.

It is basically a DB reverse curl/external rotation combo. Dude with username RJorg on another forum used them a bunch for his shoulders, I started doing them and it made my shoulders feel awesome so I do them all the time now and just call them that.

Ė Not bad! Form felt great so I did 3 instead of a single for the PR. My grip was doing weird stuff though. First rep clipped my knee sleeves and by the last rep I was starting to lose it. My hands were swollen all day for some reason (I have had weird hand allergy stuff in the past that I hope isnít comig back) so I am thinking that had something to do with it.

Chest Supported Rows, V handle: 5 sets
Seated Band Leg Curls: 5 sets
