its the shoulder angle, our shoulders are used to being low with our hands to the side. naturally thats ware they are going to be the strongest at moving weight.

and the range of motion is far less with declines

^^also from what i've been told is that the lower chest is the larger and stronger muscles of the chest the more they are in corperated with the push like OTK said the bigger the bench.

Fundamentals of the Bench Press Arch

don't know if anyone really cares about this but also i read that with the decline you are able to involve more back and upper arm muscle which would intern make you stronger.

makes sense to me.
