Default Road to Hattiesburg: January 24, 2015

Hello again, all. After an absence due to school and holiday and such, I'm back! Next meet planned is 24 January 2015 at Revolution Fitness in Hattiesburg, MS. Sanctioned USPA. I'll definitely probably qualify for nationals and would like to make a run for a chance at qualifying for IPL worlds. I've been semi-regular in the gym, mainly having fun and getting in when I can. I didn't feel like testing maxes, so I've adjusted to:
Squat: 675
Bench: 375
Deadlift: 625
I'm running the meet prep from 10/20/Life with squats and deads separated and a bro day for chest, shoulders, pull ups, and curls. I'm ready to get back into actual training. Everything seems to go better in life when I do so.

Squats 27 October

475x3x3
Things felt good and speedy. Wrapped light for the last set to start getting used to the bite again.
Paused squats: 325x6, 345x6, 375x6
Only supposed to do two triples, but these felt good.
Dimel Deadlifts: 225x3x12
Piston leg press: 3 plates 3x12

Called it a night as it was very late and I still had homework.

Smooth, fast, every rep paused.
Monster mini bands doubled over single DB: 185+band, 215+band, both for triples
Hammer Strength ISO row: 2plates+quarter 3x12
Triceps extensions, elbows out 35,40,45 3x12
Band pushdowns x75
Bird dogs 10x10 seconds each side

Really focusing on hamstrings and lats this cycle. Dimels every squat and DL session, rows on bench day.

Deadlift 30 October

425x3x3
4 Inch Block pulls 455x2x3
Dimel Deadlifts 225x3x12
McGill Curl Ups 10x10 second hold each side

Got in after work tonight, so I was a bit tired to start with. Quick session was had, hit the high parts. Things felt heavy until 405 and then the weight flew up. Block pulls were super smooth. Gonna add weight next week.

Working on getting my sleep under control. It really hasn't been on a schedule since I got back from vacation. I was informed by Kels that I snore even with my CPAP going, so I'm going in for a sleep study on Nov 10 and will get everything adjusted if not a new machine! Huzzah!

The first week has been good and I'm hoping to carry the momentum forward. I'm real curious to see where in get with this training cycle.

Squats were super fast and felt really good, even though warmups felt awful.

Everything felt light and fast today. Hit some light SSB paused squats just to get that part of my body moving.

Light squats and Heavy Deads coming up on Monday as well as the sleep study. Maybe I won't feel like such a fatass when I start resting better. Time to drink beer, do homework, and watch a good Alabama football game!
