Default Big Papa Protein's GVT Log

Hey everyone,

My wife and I started GVT this morning. I'll be tracking all of my lifts on here and if anyone out there has already gone through this program and has some nuggets of wisdom, then by all means share!

BPP

Day 1:

Benchpress: 145 10X10

Barbell row: 90 10X10

Incline dumbbell fly: 35's 3X15

Seated cable rows: 150 3X15

--Since I completed all of these exercises, I am planning on going up next week to 155 Bench, 100 Row, 40's Fly, and 165 cable row. If this sounds crazy then let me know!

Default Day 2 Leg Day

Alright well I just got done with Day 2, Leg Day.

I definitely have the pump going pretty strong through my quads and my wife complained that now her jeans don't fit. So all in all a good session. After the squats however, my legs were in full Kerrigan mode (WhY?! wHY?! WHY?!).

Squats: 145 10X10
Leg Curls: 75 10X10
Calf Raises (seated): 70 3X15
Weighted Ab Crunch: 25 3X15

squats were the hardest but I did finish with a touch more in the tank, so I'm planning on going up next week in all of my weight.

GVT is tough. I've tried it, but it wasn't conducive to my goals.

And my hatred of all sets over 5 reps.

Yeah, I saw a bit of this from others when I was looking into the program. "Burned Out" was also used a lot to to describe it. My wife and I don't have any immediate goals other than look good and feel good, so we decided to give it a shot.

Default Day 2 Update

So I had forgotten that this week is Bike week at my school. So needless to say 12 miles later, I'm starting to think that maybe it was a mistake to ride in on leg day.

If I'm not on the forum tomorrow, check the local hospitals.

Default Day 3- Shoulders and Lats

Got in the gym a little late this morning (5:45) mainly due to the DOMS reducing my wife and I to "Sloth" speed.

I think that is why I might of started light with the dumbbell pressess. Yes I know my shoulder bone isn't connected to my leg bone ( if I remember the song correctly ). I just think my brain was saying " Slow down Cowboy, remember leg day?". Anyway after presses I went back up and all in all felt good about it.

Dumbbell Presses: 25's 10X10... WAY Too light

Lat Pulldowns: 90 10X10

Rear dumbbell flyes : 20's 3X15

Straight arm Pulldowns: 100 3X15

Finished everything and felt good doing it, so next week I'll go up again.

Cheers,
BPP

Default Day 4: Biceps and Triceps

Good Pump= Good Day

That and I skipped school! I did assisted dips because I hadn't done them in 2 yrs so I took it easy. They were still hard around set 7, oh well.

Dips (assisted 50lbs) 10X10

Alternating Curls: 25's 10X10

Tricep pushdowns: 150 3X15

Preacher curls: 65 3X15

Felt good about it so looks like I'll be going up again next week.

Cheers,
BPP
