I'm going to be monitoring myself closely. Today was my rest day, and tomorrow will be my first real lower body day since I hit it really hard Saturday. I'm just hoping my knees are ready. I'll push my CNS, but I won't push it when it comes to my joints.

I'm good to go my friend. I was nowhere close to the shooting. I honestly appreciate the concern though.

Unfortunately work has been crazy. I can't go into detail, but my job is to drive big wigs around when they visit Ft. Hood. Well now that some moron decided to shoot up the place, every big wig in the state wants to come have a look and put in his 2 cents.

If anyone watched the news conference today with Lt Gen Milley, I'm the one who drove him there from our HQ bldg. I also drove around a senator. Tomorrow? I'm driving the freaking Governor around for a little while.

All this adds up to a crappy diet and no time to train. Not a good combo, although not too big of a deal for just a couple days. Tomorrow I'm going to train, even if I have to do it really late (which would suck, because today is the 3rd day in a row that I've gotten off late).

The moral of the story is, please don't shoot up Ft. Hood. It makes life really crappy for the rest of us. Dick.

Most of us around here have a sense of humor about stuff like this. Truth is, Ft. Hood is the size of a massive city. There are 70,000 soldiers here. We have a high suicide rate, but the murder rate would be the envy of any comparably sized city. I feel perfectly safe here.

Not to mention, 4 people? How many soldiers have we lost in the last 10 years? There have been combat brigades that have lost more people than that in 10 minutes. Accidental deaths from friendly fire are in the hundreds, if not thousands. It's just part of the deal.

And the shooting happened in a place I've been, but only because it's my job to go all over post. I've been everywhere here. If you heard about a shooting that took place 5 miles from where you work, would it phase you? Probably not.

No difference here.

I hear ya. Your head's in the right place.

My job is to take a bullet in defense of others (hopefully, in the vest!) and I work in a courthouse in a town with one of the highest percentage of felons in the state...

can't worry about it, danger is part of life.

It's true. Just today i drove in the motorcade for Gov. Perry. There were also some generals and a couple congressmen in there. Of course, people at that level don't give a shit about me, but it's still cool.

I finally managed to get in a quick upper body session today. I haven't trained in 2 days and even though I've been getting good sleep and honestly don't feel too stressed out, I just don't feel so hot. Too many hours stuck at work.

Bench (supersetted with rows)-
135x8
135x5
185x5
205x3
185x5
185x5
185x5
185x5
185x5

Cable rows-
I just did a set between each set of bench. I didn't keep track of weight.

At this point I did a superset of cable OHPs and pulldowns. I did about 7 sets increasing weight each set. I wanted to do military press, but my shoulder felt funky so I decided to lay off it today.

After all this I did some rehab stuff. Some cable rotator cuff stuff along with some light front and side raises. For some reason my left shoulder hurts any time I do anything that hits the front delt. Not sure if it's agravating the rotator cuff or if there's a seperate issue. I'm just going to play it safe.

Tomorrow I'm going to make up for the fact that I haven't hit my legs all week by getting in a good high volume session with lots of squats and deads. It'll be my first time all week that I can just go train and not think about other things. I'm really, REALLY, looking forward to it.
