I just don't understand? Can you explain it to me why there is only one set each. Isn't 5x5, 5sets - 5reps?

a traditional 5x5 is, but Pavel's 5x5x5 workouts isn't. The basics of this workout is you pick 5 exercises (I picked 3, hence the word modified), you do 1x5 for each each day, you lift 5 days a week (always using the same exercises), and you add weight each day.

The idea is basically that of the bulgarian olympic lifting teams, and im just curious as to how well it will work, and if nothing else it should up my WC

^^^ This is a great approach for increased strength. I want to try this someday, may be after this rather hectic semester is over. Google up "grease the groove" (if you havent already) and you will find a nice 20 page write-up by Pavel on this topic. There he specifically talks about pull-ups, but the idea is the same anyway.

yeah, or you can read his book power to the people, or anyone of his articles the ideas are typically the same... p.s. his book power to the people is a must read, there is alot more in there then workout ideas
