Since I knew i was going to be going in the hot tub i just really wanted to get a pump for when i took my shirt off. Took up a good chunk of the day and kept me from giving into any hunger cravings just sitting around the house lol

3/8/14

Back Squat - High Bar - 14" Box:
45x1x20
135x1x20
225x1x10
225x1x40
315x1x10

OHP:
45x1x20
67x1x20
89x5x12

Rack Pull - Top of the knee:
89x1x12
135x1x12
179x5x12

Havent done OHP or Rack Pulls/anything that requires holding onto a bar (more than 135) since my meet. Tested out my hand, OHP felt fine. Rack pulls was fine (used an overhand grip with my right hand, normally its underhand) grip strength still isnt up to speed, could feel it starting to fail around the 10 rep range, but its heading in the right direction atleast.

Solid pulling man. Glad it's going in the right direction.

Im back!! Took a leave of absence from logging stuff. Heres an update from pretty much all of last year. After my meet in Feb 2014, I decided to do a bodybuilding show. So the whole year was dedicated to that. I competed bantamweight (143) at Night of Champions in spokane, wa. I got 2nd place (out of 2) so last place....anyways after that I was supposed to make my return to the platform in november but some job stuff came up. I competed in a local just for fun DL comp the end of Jan this year. I got 1st (out of just myself, due to people missing weight) I competed at 181 in this. Well between the comp or being drunk and riding the mechanical bull that night i ended up getting a hernia. So I took 2 weeks off and the pain had gone away so began to slowly start getting under the bar again. I got up to 275 for 5 paused squats and 235 for 5 deadlifts last week and it was easy, but a little to much to do that soon. so since then ive backed off and wont go over 185 in anything for a little while. Im doing high (ish) volume stuff and just really trying to chase a pump. My planned on return to full power is August 15th at the USPA summer strength wars. So the plan as of right now is to 1.) get my weight under check again, after the show i got fat. I ballooned up to 195 and have begun cutting down to a decent weight. current weight is 180-183 right now. 2.) Do mostly high volume/lightish stuff for the next 2 months 3.) providing im completely healed up and my guts arent spilling, ill spend the following 3 months hitting it hard again and training like i used to.

Todays workout - 2/27/15

OHP:
45x2x20
67x3x15

Reverse DB Fly:
20x3x20

DB Side Raise:
10x3x15

Alt DB Curl:
20x3x12

EZ Curl Bar- Wide Grip:
30x1x12
30x1x10
30x1x8
30x1x6
30x1x4
30x1x2

Alt Hammer Curl:
20x3x10

ABS:
jackknife - 2x20
Hanging knee raise - 2x10

DL - Conventional Rep Out:
135x1x25 (technically a pr, i have rep out records with the big 3 going from 135, 225, 315, 405. Hadnt done my 135s on squat or DL so decided to go ahead and try it out. It was easy and had plenty more in the tank but cut it short)

2/28/15 - little bit of legs, more or less just burning time until i left the house and spotting for my roommate.

Squat - High Bar:
45x3x15
135x3x15 - no weird feelings (4 weeks removed from diagnosis of hernia) knees were a bit stiff and actually got a decent little quad pump.

Front Squat:
45x3x10

Lunges:
BWT x 2x15 (per leg, one leg at a time)

OHP:
45x7x10
67x1x5 (started to feel somewhat good so was gonna go heavier, made the jump to 115 and walked it out and said nope.)

Today ill probably keep it bro and maybe work up to 185 bench for 5-8ish. Then the rest will most likely be just chasing a pump. Ill give it one more week of being cautious then ill open it up a little bit more. No idea what i weigh right now. Ate like crap and drank a little saturday so weight probably shot back up a few lbs like it normally does after the weekends.

well hit my goal of getting to 185 for day....then got competitive with a guy benching next to me. hed do a set then look at me so couldnt resist. as of right now, no pain or weird feeling. so thats a plus, but we'll see how im feeling tonight.

3/2/15

Bench:
45x3x15
95x1x12
135x1x10
185x3x5 - planned goal
205x1x5
225x1x5
245x1x5
275x1x5 - felt good, last rep was a little iffy but i hit one of the hooks coming up and kind of threw me off but still locked the rep out.

Incline Bench (normally do db with this but all stations were taken so did barbell)
45x1x10
95x1x10
115x3x10 (3rd set towards the end i had to grind out a little bit surprisingly, but for the most part probably should have gone to at least 135 with this)

H.S. Iso Lateral Bench:
42PPS x3x12 (last set once again was a grinder)

Cable Crossover - High:
15x3x10 - tight/paused contractions

Tricep pressdown w/ bar and palms down, elbows in:
25x1x20
30x3x20

Push ups:
Bwt x 2x15 (everything was pumped and burned, barely made it threw the 2nd set smh)

ABS:
Crunches - 2x15
Crossover Crunch - 2x15 (per side, 1 side at a time)

Seated Hammer Curl: (biceps/curling motions are a huge weakness)
15x3x12

Reverse DB Fly/Raise - palms facing towards me: (rear delt/back are huge weakness)
25x2x15

Depending on how everything feels tonight and tomorrow, I might open it up and little bit with squats and DL later on in the week.

Progress is progress, slowly but surely getting my strength back and my confidence.

3/6/15

Squat - Low bar:
45x3x12
135x2x5
225x2x3
315x2x3
359x1x3 + wraps (dont usually wrap until 405 but decided to get a set in with them before i hit 405 since i havent used them in a long time)
405x1x6

Rack Pulls:
135x1x5
225x1x4
315x5x3 (lower back strength is severely down, this felt way to heavy)

BB Row w/ overhand grip:
45x1x20
89x1x12
135x3x8

Was just going to be done, went and had some subway and decided to do some more bench. Wanted to rep with 315 with a slingshot just to see where im at. My raw rep pr with 315 is 5, but dont quite have the confidence yet to try it by myself. Kept hitting the rack to, so was throwing me off a little.

Bench:
45x3x12
135x1x8
179x1x5
225x1x3
269x1x13
315x1x6 - slingshot
