January 2nd, 2010

2 days into the New year. If you're not hitting it already, you're already spinning your wheels. Stop waiting and start weighting.

Diet - Warrior Diet.

2300 calories. 300 calories pre-workout, Muscle Gauge Whey Isolate, 3 scoops in water. Sip all day. Post-workout yet to come. 2000 calories of whatever I so desire.

I am taking the kids to Alvin and the Chipmunks Squeakquel, so I might snack on beef jerky before the uber meal tonight. Or, I might just fall asleep during the movie and drool all over myself.

Energy - C+

Not much motivation today. All I felt like doing was flopping my backend in a chair. Each squat warmup set was like completing a triathlon. But, once I got moving, I felt better.

Workout Grade - C

Workout Time - 52 minutes

I am still sick, but improving gradually. Squats left me nearly hyperventilating between sets. A couple times I asked my wife to lean against me in case I passed out. I cut out a few sets from this workout, still still killed the sets I did do.

My back felt slightly weak from 3 weeks of illness, but my strength was better then expected.

Palo Alto Labs ATP Tabs - B-

This is day 2 of trying Palo Alto Labs pre-workout ATP Tabs. My energy going into the workout stunk. But overall, my energy level was better then expected, despite the near-hyperventilation. My condition and illness made it hard to gauge the ATP Tabs, but feel pretty good right now.

Other Supplements - B

Sipping on 2 scoops of Muscle Gauge along with 2 cups of coffee during, and post-workout. Hit the gym earlier then normal today. I took fish oil, vitamin D-3 and glucosamine post-workout.

Supplements:

--Muscle Gauge Whey Isolate - Cinnamon Bun
--Palo Alto Labs ATP Tabs
--Multivitamin
--Vitamin D-3 (Gummie)
--Fish Oil
--Glucosamine & Chondroitin

I will be adding Optimum Nutrition Glutamine and BCAAs very soon.

Squats
365 x 3
365 x 3
365 x 4 (Money set - goal of 20 reps)

Squats
315 x 8

Romanian Deadlifts - Bulldozer Sets - 30/30/60/60/90/120 seconds rest
225 x 7/4/3 (Note: Shut down the workout at this point. I couldn't breathe, and 3 rest-pause sets was enough).

This was a good break-in workout after 3 weeks off from squatting. Tomorrow is a rest day and Paleo diet day.

Your body still trying to fight off something and not share the energy with your workout. Drink some OJ and tackle it next time.

20 reps on squats ... will they be done normal style, or breathing squats style?

Thanks Jeremy. I feel like crap, and I'm much heavier then I planned. I was around 250, then got invited to compete in the world's. I ate my way to 270. Then Thanksgiving came, and a 3 week illness. I look and feel like crap. I have a ton of muscle, but have added about 20 pounds of fat since my last "secret" picture.

But I need to post a picture to remind myself where I'm starting. I'm 5'10". But I have an odd physique in that I tend to look taller then I am, especially when I cut. Odd lines.

Time to get it done. 2010 is the year.

Natural. No breathing reps, other then just trying to intake enough air to live through the set.
