I had another really strong session today. I couldn't find the little 1.25kg weights (there's only one pair in the whole gym) so I was forced to go up by a lot more than I was comfortable with. That said, I was able to push myself while still maintaining the decent form I was working on during my deload week.

The only bad thing was that my grip felt weak and I wasn't able to lift as much as I wanted to because the weight was slipping out of my hands on my straight-legged deadlifts. Maybe it's time to buy straps.

Here's what my lifts looked like this morning:

Deep squats: 12/10/8/6 x 85/90/95/100kg
SL deadlifts: 11/10/8/6 x 90/90/95/100kg
lunges: 4x8x18kg
abs: 5x20

if a mixed grip isn't comfortable or doesn't fix the grip for SLDL, then there's nothing wrong with straps!

Thanks for the tips, guys. I really appreciate it. I think I'm gonna try and hold out until I'm in the US for New Years and get some Versa Gripps since I've heard good things about them. They're way cheaper in the US.

Today's workout was decent. I didn't go up any on my weights. The only bad thing is that my elbow's a little beat up. I think I've got tennis elbow (another reason straps/Versa Gripps might be a good idea).

Here's what my numbers looked like today:
Pull-up: 4 x 12/10/10/7 x bodyweight
Chin-up: 4 x 10 x bodyweight
Rows: 4 x 12 x 67.5kg
Cable rows: 4 x 10 x 80kg

Looking forward to shoulder day tomorrow!

Smashing shoulders is tough for me. I think a week full of loading and unloading weights from the bar, chest, tri and back workouts tire my shoulders out before I get started. What I MIGHT do for next week is swap my shoulder and chest workouts since I have a pretty strong bench (comparatively) anyway... we'll see.

It's Monday so that means it's bench day for me and all the other bros out there. I've been upping my weight so I can decrease my reps on most of my lifts in order to work toward a 5x5 workout starting at the beginning of 2014.

I thought I was benching my body weight for 8 reps until I checked my weight after lifting only to find I'm only about 100g short of 100kg... the heaviest I think I've ever been in my life. That just means I'm gonna have to increase the weight on my bench next week.

Here's what my workout looked like today:

Bench: 10x95, 10x95, 8x97.5, 8x97.5kg
Incline DB Press: (34kg DBs)x10,8,7,8 reps
Close-grip bench: 8x75, 6x77.5, 6x775, 6x77.5kg
dips: 4x(bodyweight)x10,9,9,10 reps

Felt pretty strong overall. Looking forward to leg day tomorrow... but not looking forward to Wednesday and Thursday.
