On your squats, it seems your stance is quite wide. I have noticed that on my crew, whom most wide stance squat, they quite often have issues meeting depth. Have you tried experimenting with that stance?

On the side view, you are not staying tight with chest up, and thus are leaning. Look at the bar path, which is a big indicator of this. The bar travel forward instead of mostly straight up and down. You have to get very tight in that back with chest up, and sit back on those heels and outer feet. When you lean it is almost impossible to make depth.

It all will take time. It has taken me a few years to get it.

Wishing you a very merry Christmas Chris!
Thanks Jim. I appreciate your tips on the squat video. I can get down lower with my feet close together in practice, but my stability suffers, so that is probably why I am leaning forward. I've tried keeping my toes pointed out more, which seems to help my hips, knees and stability but that feels unnatural right now. I have squat tomorrow, so I will try to sit back a bit more on my heels keep everything tight in the back and we'll see what happens.

About the DL, thanks. I am feeling stronger with this move and am sure it will go up faster than my other lifts... and the rows are one of my favorite exercises.

Skipped my workout yesterday, so today was the make-up. I got the wrist wraps from EliteFTS. I ordered the 60cm length, but they sent me the 80cm by mistake. No problem though, I like them anyway. I feel the difference on the heavier sets.

Thanks. I am pausing on each rep, letting the bar rest on my chest for a sec and locking out at top. Trying not to get too cocky by bouncing the bar off my chest. I made all those mistakes when I was a kid with bad results

Friday 12/27
1 mile walk/stretch

Squat
Bar x 5
135 x 5
185 x 5
225 x 5
260 x 4
280 x 3
310 x 3
325 x 1

BB Press
Bar x 5
65 x 5
95 x 5
110 x 5
125 x 3
130 x 5

I was feeling fat and bloated from all the crap I've been eating all week, so no high expectations.
I brought my feet closer together and toes pointed, felt myself leaning forward and fought it every time. I felt much less stress on the hips and knees and more on the hammies and quads. I know I'm going to feel this one tomorrow. Thanks for all the tips.

Just keep thinking of the form cues after unracking. Once you learn to get tight, everything will fall into place. It just takes lots of practice. Are those the new lifting shoes?

Thanks Jim. Yup, those are the lifting shoes. Now I'm all geared up with the knee sleeves and the wrist wraps as well. I just need to get a decent bench and rack so I don't kill myself. I may have to get the saw horses out of the garage for now
