Indeed, make getting some wrist wraps a priority, as they also help keep your hands in the correct position that being vertical. You will for sure score anohter PR when you do use them. Congratz on the 275 and cheers to 3PPS in 2014!

Friday 12/20
Stretch

Squat
Bar x 5
135 x 5
185 x 5
225 x 5
250 x 3
275 x 3
305 x 3
305 x 1
325 x 1(PR)

BB Press
Bar x 5
65 x 5
85 x 5
105 x 5
115 x 3
125 x 5

This is the first leg workout with the PL shoes and the 2nd with the knee sleeves, so I'm all decked out. All I need is a bandana and some spandex and I'll get all the ladies.

After the first two sets, I decided to up the intensity a bit on the next few. I still had a little left so I did a single of 325 which felt great. I think I got pretty far down in the "hole" so it was a good workout. Take a look and let me know what you think.

305 from the front (I labeled it wrong)

325 from the side

Nice work Booch. Have you ever tried to open your toes up just a little more? Looks like your knees are outside your toes which could place some stress on your knees and hips and hinder depth some.

I will work on that this week. When I'm doing the squat I feel like I'm going as low as I can, but when I see it on the video I have a couple of inches to go before I hit parallel. I've been working on my flexibility and can stretch all the way down without a bar, so it's these little things in my technique that need tweaking. I appreciate your help.

Deadlift

275 x 3
285 x 1
305 x 1 PR

Barbell Rows

BB Curls
Bar x 5

I widened my stance on the DL, which made a big difference in stability. I think the back is finally catching up with the rest of my body. Much stronger than a month ago. Looks like the B.O. rows and the extra rest are paying off.

Firstly, congratz on the deadlift PR of 305! Moving in the right direction and IMO Rows are the best accessory lift to bring up your pulling. I am especially fond of pendlay Rows as they too are initiated from the floor.

On your squats, it seems your stance is quite wide. I have noticed that on my crew, whom most wide stance squat, they quite often have issues meeting depth. Have you tried experimenting with that stance?

On the side view, you are not staying tight with chest up, and thus are leaning. Look at the bar path, which is a big indicator of this. The bar travel forward instead of mostly straight up and down. You have to get very tight in that back with chest up, and sit back on those heels and outer feet. When you lean it is almost impossible to make depth.

It all will take time. It has taken me a few years to get it.

Wishing you a very merry Christmas Chris!
