Off day today. Watching my Panthers play. Maybe we can win two in a row. Tomorrow is chest/triceps, but I'm just itching to hit it. I hit the gym the last three days in a row because I had to make up for a missed day, so I'd better wait. but, MAN, I'm ready to wear it out. That's one of the reasons I do chest/triceps on Monday, it gives me something to look forward to on Monday besides the end of it.

10/7/13- Chest/triceps
Bench press
Warmups
135x10
185x5
225x5
245x5
Work sets
I started at 265 this week instead of 255 like last week. Tried to move up by 5lbs each set, but wasn't happening. Only got 270 x4, so I moved back to 265. Inexplicably, though, I was able to get 275x4 after my work sets. (will include video) Go figure.
265x5
270x4
265x5
265x5-(4+1)
265x5-(4+1)
275x4

Incline bench press
Warmup
135x10
205x5
225x7-(supposed to be 5, but I was showing off for the camera, lol)
225x5
225x5
225x4-Never had trouble on these before, but the 7 rep set must have drained me. On my 5th rep I got buried. Fortunately, there were some other folks there to un-bury me, lol.

Close grip bench press
Warmup
135x10
Work sets
185x5,5,5

EZ bar cable pressdowns
Warmup
150x10
Work sets
180x5,5,5

I took too much time resting during my bench sets, so I had to cut my triceps sets back. I still feel like I hit them good, though.

I have had some folks tell me that there is no way I could have made the progress I have in 5 months (no one here). And I fully understand their doubts. While I cannot prove how long I have been lifting (short of providing all of my training logs, which I do have), I can put up some videos showing that I am actually moving these weights. And in the process maybe get some input on form. I believe my form on the incline bench is better that the flat bench. It just seems easier to keep my elbows to my side whereas, with flat bench, I still tend to push my elbows out. I'm working on it, though. Be forewarned, AFTER uploading the vids to youtube I noticed my shorts ride up a little on one of the vids. Not nearly as revealing as some singlets I have seen, but you have been warned. I ain't going back and re-filming, I've already had my shower, lol.

- 245x5 warmup
- 265x5, 1st set
- 275x4, extra set after completing 5x5
- Incline bench 225x7

You show them doubters what's possible! The biggest limitation we have as humans is the belief that something is impossible to accomplish. Your progress is inspiring.

Thanks, Steve! It is odd, though. That set of 275 was easier for me than my first set of 265. Maybe I warmup REAL slowly.
