1/1/14- First day of week 5 on JByrd's 15 week routine. This is a deload week. I raised the weight percentages slightly so that, even though it is a light week, I could get a little credit towards the 1000 rep-point goal.

Man, that was mighty quick. That adds up to 25 rep points for this session. Hopefully, I will make it up on the ensuing heavy weeks.

1/6/13- Day one of week six. I skipped the remainder of last week's deload sessions after I did bench day last week. i felt like I had overtrained as a result of over-reaching on my weight percentages for the previous 4 weeks. I feel recuperated and ready to go now.

This was also my first time using my new pre-workout regimen. I am using the el-cheapo pre-workout from WalMart along with one 200mg caffeine pill. It worked fine. I didn't feel as "jacked" as I normally did with my old concoction, but I had plenty of energy and endurance from start to finish. I noticed a minute amount of chest "pump", which I normally do not have. I imagine it would be much more noticeable with a more expensive pre-workout. Either way I am going to stick with this for now (at least as long as I can afford to).

Bench press- I have been getting a lot of pain from bench pressing since I lowered my warmup volume. I have learned in the 9 months i have been in the gym that my body needs A LOT of warmups. JByrd had advised me to add my 5x5 back into my workout as accessory work in place of the 3x8 accessory work. Since I was starting light on my 5x5, I used it as the warmup to my heavy 3x3. This seemed to work better. I had no pain and I felt much stronger once I got to the 3x3.
