Great work on the progression Henry. Indeed, a 225 paused is a nice milestone.

Looking to work the core a bit more with the beltless squats? It's funny that when I was doing them beltless, everyone was telling me to put on a damn belt - same with deads. Now it seems the trend is to go beltless at least some of the time.

I don't wear a belt for deads or squats. I may try it once deads get a little heavier, but I hate the feel of it on squats. I do wear one for bench though, and it seems to help me.

Notes: Training's been going really well. My bench is getting incrementally better every session-hopefully 225 paused will be coming very soon. Thanks for the love, everyone! @Jim, I'm going to see if following Dan Green's/Chad Wesley Smith's methodology of adding a new piece of gear every so often in a cycle can help my raw squat explode. Also, I've found that I have started to get a bit too bent over for my liking and I know that my core is definitely a weakness for squats/deads.


In other news, I came down with a cold after Monday's squat session. I'm feeling better, but still not ready to hit the gym so I took yesterday off. At this point I'm not sure if I'll be ready to go tomorrow, but it'll be a game-time decision.

I think it's better to wait until your near 100%, as taxing the body when it is already in a compromised state due to the cold, common sense tells me is not a good thing.

Outside of congestion, I'm feeling normal today. I've been productive in class and haven't taken any medicine. So, unless there is a major change in how I feel, I'll be training this afternoon.
