Time to start logging again... Most of my sessions lately have been maintenance full body or, upper/lower types, infrequent and barely productive but work none-the-less.
Frankly, after 4yrs of solid work (from Nov 2009) with very little breaks, including an awesome lifestyle change and a couple of stage appearances in Master's BB'ing to boot, I lost my mojo.
So, the last 8-10wks I've been living a bit loose, in some ways it felt great and yeah I packed on a few lbs over my comfy "walking around" weight (178lbs) up to 190lbs.

Like I mentioned before, my focus had been on BB'ing before, I just can't get psyched up for it... I can't... I could go into detail but I won't really because I believe in pushing aside negativity, it has no place.
So bring on new goals!
For 2014 the goal is to compete in the sprints in Master's Track & Field.
Step #1 - Get involved, I've paid my $30 to USATF for my membership and I'm looking for a local club to join as we speak. Most of the runners around here are the marathon type and there is no way in hell I'm doing that! I'm a sprinter, I prefer timing in seconds not hours. I've heard there's a competing T&F guy that trains at my gym; I asked the owner to forward my contact info to him...
Step #2 - Got my diet plan in place; I'll be tracking and tweaking it going forward.
Step #3 - Putting a phased training plan together; backing off from my accustomed 5-day BB split to increase more sprint strength exercises; of course I will also be adding track training days as well.

So, there it is in a nutshell, I have a lot of work to do. Oh and don't think I haven't researched the finishing times of the class heats the last couple of years... I didn't just pluck this crazy idea from thin air... I've been thinking about this for a couple of years.
Some background: Back in 1974/75 when in the 8th grade I clocked 11sec flat in the 100yd dash... guys, it was 1974, before the metric system, LOL...
Played football in '76, my 40 times were mid 4's (I'm from Nebraska, this is important to know). Then... I discovered it was more fun to drink, smoke and chase skirts... end of story.

So, here's to recapturing my youth {clink}

Here in Omaha we are over saturated with gyms, they're everywhere.
But I'm sticking with Bret Carter's Omaha Barbell.
Practically giddy over it being 20+deg out so off to the gym I go...

Wide Grip Lat PD's
EZ Bar Rev Grip Bent Over Rows
DB One Arm Rows
EZ Bar Seated Close Grip Con Curls
DB Incline Curls - Wide
DB Hammers

Short and sweet (50min)

It's on...
Entered the Cornhusker State Games today; 2 events, 100M + the Long Jump...

Now all I have to do is train.
