Default Porter Training for Lack of Fat

I joined here for help staying focused on losing the constant drive-thru fat and find the muscle I know I have under it all.

I'm 36
235 Lbs
6'

My wife just gave birth to our first son on the 19th of July. It's just another reason to do this and stop f'n around.

I haven't lifted for power since injuries in the service and I don't have a gym membership.

Goal #1 - get a basic bench, bars and weights on craigslist.
Goal #2 - use it
Goal #3 - be able to go on the boat without a shirt and feel damn good
Goal #4 - Give my son a reason to look at me like i'm Hercules

I'll be logging in to stay focused on eating, jogging and strength training.
Any motivation is greatly appreciated.

Good to know everyone. Monday it begins.

My son keeps my mind focused on him and I forget about computers.

I haven't had a soda in 3 weeks.
I've had 3 beers in 3 weeks.
I have cut back on all white flour w/the exception of the occasional pasta dish.
I've never eaten so much fruit & vegetables.

Constant push-ups, leg raises and crunches. I haven't been able to get a bench yet, so I'm using 3 & 5 gallon buckets of drywall mud right now.

I've lost 12 pounds, 4" around my gut and I can see the difference in my work shirts. I pick up the bench next Friday, so I'm looking to make a significant push on the blunt exercises i've been doing. I will not be giving up on this.

I don't currently take any supplements. I have tried things. Any recommended to look into to start fresh?

The usual recommendation when dieting is to keep your protein intake relatively high (say 1g per pound) to preserve muscle mass. So if you have difficulty obtaining that amount from food, you might consider a protein supplement.

Very impressive progress so far.

I second Tann. Definitely start and try to get your protein intake up.

Good luck!
