Hard to imagine your grip isn't quite strong enough. Is the axle diameter much different than a BB?

Hope the purple thumb didn't put too much of a damper on the fun tho!

Thumb is all set now. And yeah, the axle is as thick as the collar of a normal bar, so around 2". Pain in the arse to hold.
