Killing Dz, your current routine is working well for you! I agree with rich about the SS work. It's should definitely be paused!

Thnx Rich. The heat is a real killer. Hard to get your training done. I think for now the heat is done. Hopefully is stays in the 80s now.

Well done DZ - and I hope you are OK.
Doing great Jim. I would love to train in a/c but I like training outside in the garage. Money set was great. Felt strong all the way through.

9/2/2013

3/5/1 Cycle 16 Wave 1 BBB Powerlifting

Press w/u
45x10
65x5
85x5
95x3

Working
115x3
125x3
145x6

BBB Press (supersetted w/ Meadows Row)
125x5x5

Meadows Row
100x15x5

30yd Farmers walk w/ Shrugs
80x15x3

Incline Bench
135x5x3

DONE

Took advantage of the nice cooler weather we are FINALLY having. Really pushed on the Rows. Need to keep these in the higher rep range. Farmers walk/DB Shrugs really worked the traps and grip. Going to keep doing these for as long as I can. Incline bench was just a quick bonus. I also did some barbell curls for joint/tendon health. Nothing worth noting. I think the farther I get into this the more the acc. work might drop off. Who knows. I might just keep it all with lower weights. Not going to be much on DL/Squat days. Those are going to be tough.

Solid pressing day DZ! How did you like the BBB sets at 5x5 and a little heavier? I think I would like that better than 5x10. Glad your weather has cooled some. We are still right at 100 every day for the foreseeable future.

I just basically play my accessory work by ear nowadays. Just take what your body is willing to give on any given day. I'm with you tho, on my recent squat and dead days I couldn't muster up the strength to do any accessory work either.

Your money set was pretty dang good DZ!

Right now I would say I like the 10x5 better. I think the more I get into it, I will like the 5x5 more. Reason is, on the 10x5 weight is lighter and I can be more explosive whereas the 5x5 is heavier and less explosive AT THIS POINT. By the fourth set I was done, but knew I had one more to finish. Shoulders were on fire. Next two waves might be different and I just got started.

Anymore thats just what I am going to do. Play the accessory work by ear. Definitely keeping the back work though. IF I do any accessory work on Deads/Squats day, it will be light work like bench squats & RDLs. This might surprise me though. It might not be that bad. Time will only tell.

Nice press work.
Interesting idea to do 5x5 rather than 5x10 for the BBB work.
Always preferred reps in the Under 5 category myself..... Anything upwards of 10 feels to much like cardio!
