DEADLIFT Training - Mesocycle 59 Week 2

Went in feeling very anxious…. I think I've realized something: in all this crazy volume, I stumble upon a patch during my workout where I'm feeling all kinds of soreness, discomfort, etc… and then if I power through this slump: good things happen. The key to doing this is to not get overwhelmed by a bunch of numbers - it happens when I just close my eyes and take each set as it's own.

Dynamic Warm-ups & Mobility Drills:
Front Plate Squats
Unilateral RDLs
Ankle Mobility
Glute Bridges
X Band Walks
Pull-ups

Deadlifts Vanilla Honeymoon Period:
45 x 7
135 x 3
145 x 1
155 x 1
165 x 1
175 x 1
185 x 1
195 x 1
205 x 1
215 x 1
225 x 3
235 x 1
245 x 1
255 x 1
265 x 1
275 x 2
285 x 1
295 x 2
305 x 1
315 x 2
325 x 1
335 x 1
345 x 1
355 x 2
365 x 1
375 x 1
385 x 1
395 x 1
405 x 1
415 x 1
425 x 2
425 x 2
435 x 1
445 x 1

Deadlifts Modified Honeymoon Period Volume @ 455:
455 x 3
455 x 3
455 x 3
465 x 3

Damn good job..I have nothing more I can add to this. I'm very happy.

Solid work. Are those step ups with 40 pounds in each hand?

I felt fine to be honest. Slight tightness in the hamstrings and pretty stiff and tired in general but okay otherwise. The day after my Deadlift session I did the Step-ups and Weighted Pull-ups and Rows... Today being the rest day after 2 days of such training: I am stiff and sleepy hahA

On a side note, I've been beating my head into a wall with the OHP and the rest pause sets. I'm gonna switch it up to something funner next week. Probably do 4 sets of 6-10 reps for the next 3 weeks.

I used to do a lot of rest pause and for some reason my shoulder endurance was sub-par.

Good luck with the change.

Thanks, brother. I don't take pressing work seriously and as long as it doesn't adversely affect my other lifts I don't care what I do. I used to be a OHP guy AND a DL guy though... I had a BW OHP of 195... but that was two years ago. Still....about 8 weeks of solid training and I can do it. Not that I want to. I just want some nice muscles for now :-P

LOL... I'm kidding.

Only a little. There is a kernel of truth in there: I'm bald. I can't become fat. I gotta look somewhat good. Indian girls are weird and being in India that's all I got around me haha!
