*Everything felt good today, things started out feeling a little heavy but got better as I continued. My last two top sets were kind of slow off my chest but, locking out was a breeze. Did two drop sets after words for paused reps. Think that may help me get stronger off the chest. (Opinions welcome.)

Had the day off today and not much plans for going on for me so decided to get in the gym. Happened to run into a guy who power lifts, said he was at meet in Portland, Oregon a couple weeks ago and ended up bombing out trying to pull 685.. But, said my form looks pretty good and said I should try pulling without my shoes on. So I tried it and I think going bare foot actually made a slight difference. I was able to get down a little further which, I think gave me a little more leg drive. Said he mainly trains at a private gym with some guys who are also powerlifters. I mentioned I'd like to get a around a group of guys like that to train with, maybe I'll run into him a little more often and can get together with some guys who are stronger than me...

Nice work!

I always DL barefoot or with a pair of shoes I have that are fully flat and extremely thinned soled, which come in handy for gym use, and also notice the difference between that and when I used to DL in footwear that had even a minimal heel.

Thanks friends, appreciate it!

@ 5kg, the guy commented on the shoes I was wearing saying they were "squishy" and said even converse can kind of suck. He recommended barefoot or getting a special slipper for deadlifting... I know a lot of guys I see on the YewTubes wear converse and I kind of been wanting to get a pair. Until then, I'll be going barefoot from now on. Can't believe I never tried it before!
