SS with I.F. ..... college freshman
Hi this is my first log here. I have been lifting for about 1 year and a few months.
I started doing the stupid body-builder workouts with volume(all isolation) that I could not handle and wasted a good 9 months not getting any progress on top of that I was doing 40-50 min of steady low intensity cardio and consumed almost no protein.
After 8 moths with no significant results I took a pause later on I got my shit together and started 5x5 StrongLifts. I did that for a good 4-5 months and got the best strength and size results. After taking a few months break I came back in the gym and felt like shit. I started jumping from one routine to another and I realized ...screw it I am doing doing SS until its impossible for me to get any more strength gains or results.
Squat - 275x5
Bench - 250x4
I enjoyed 5X5 but I will give S.S. a try and then go into Texas method
I weight 255 /6'2
Also I am doing I.F. 20 hours fast 4 hours feeding window in the morning.
-Work my way around my flat feet and tight legs to start squatting ATG and hit 315
- Cut down to about 220 without losing strength
275x 5, you can probably hit a 315 squat right now.
Nice progress so far and good goals. A lot of silly weight will come off with just a cleaned up diet. Good carbs and lots of protein.

Workout A,after reading for about 6 more hours I finished Mark Rippetoe SS book and realized my squat and dead lift forms were horrible.
Food Consumed Early before fast : 1 scoop of oats / 3 scoops of whey / 4 cups of milk / 1 cup of raw coffee / Handful of trail mix - blended
150g of Lean turkey deli meat
3x285- horrible form
I decided to listen to Rippetoe and learn the power-lifter type squat and also tune down the weight to 235 but Work on form and depth then slowly progress.
255x4 - New PR
For dead-lifts my shins would normally bleed from the bar scraping them but with wider stance and better form from the book I learned how to improve my form.
Slowly but surely I am hoping to surpass my previous PRs with better form.
Biggest issue today was squats.......my grip was horrible because I lacked the flexibility to wrap my hand around the bar when its lower.
Hope you can get those squats figured out. Stay strong.
Update: No internet connection for the last 5 days... testosterone levels highly increased !
