The iron is there during my times of happiness, sadness and anger. The iron is there available through the 4 seasons and inclement weather. The iron is there to either comfort me or motivate me. The Iron manages to show me how strong I am or how humble I need to be. The iron does not yell, but it always demands respect. The iron is not a disciplinarian, but when disrespected, I feel it for a long time. The iron does not love or hate, but we definitely share a strong bond. And no matter how far I stay away or for how long, the iron is there, waiting to be lifted.

Thanks folks!! I feel like I'm getting it together and lifts are moving again. Jim, I think you are right. My feet were out a little bit too much. I do that sometimes if I'm not paying attention.

HOT as a MF'er in my garage today. Really sapped my stamina. Still, got most stuff done well. Probably sweated off a few fat cells too hopefully.

Mike's Old School Plan week 3

warmups: pullups and rowing for 7 min.

Bench, needed belt again to save low back a bit, but better this week:
1x 245 pause
2x 10x 195 (second set was 11 to make up for a crappy first rep that didn't touch)

RAM:
2x 275 (easier this week)
4x 5x 245

DB Rows:
4x 10x 75 (add 5 next time, need to get this moving up quicker)

OHP:
2x 12x 100

245 pause:
11x 195:
12x 100:

There you go. Good stuff. Saved some energy for squats tomorrow too. (hopefully).

Thanks! Yes, I think so. I do cat-camel, prone cobra, and the swimmer or Bird Dog after almost every lower body day. I found that my low back tightens up considerably and I don't think recovers as well when I don't do some loosening up stuff for my back after squats and deads. I also do some of something you suggested once the "morning sunrise" poses or something like that. I don't do all of them, but each morning I do hit some of the movement patterns to get unkinked and get blood flowing first thing in the morning.

I couldn't prove it, but I do think all that stuff has helped me keep getting better.
