Old, Ugly Powerlifter Log

My last log was a bomb. Well this year has been a bomb. Despite getting stronger, I have been working too much and not focused.

I am approaching 46 and weigh over 300 pounds. We all know how that story ends. Not many 50 year olds weigh over 300.

The last 3-4 years I have been training hardcore for powerlifting. This new log has different goals. While I am still training for strength, I need a period of time not to pressure myself as much.

The (minimum) new goals are:

--242 pound bodyweight.
--Maintain a 600 raw squat
--Maintain a 650 raw deadlift
--Maintain a 350 pound bench press
--To reveal the body I've built the last 26 years

That's about it. Join me.

Love the new approach, time to crush it!

In for this, back to the darkside

April 15th, 2013

Tester workout. I tried 145 on squats without the knee wraps and my knee was barking at me. With wraps it belt much butter, but I did not push things.

No way Nationals will be a go. Too much risk. Time to move on.

Squats
145 x 3
235 x 1
325 x 1
415 x 3

Leg Extensions
90 x 50 reps (Burn Set)

Could barely walk up the stairs. The burn set destroyed my quads. My conditioning is weak.

Wish you the best. Whatever you've been doing will have to change. Big changes equals big lifestyle changes.

Obviously I'm in! Great work today Steve! Sorry Nationals aren't going to happen for you, but I know Erin will carry the torch and kick ass!
Now get it done!!!:mh:!!!

90 sets of 50 reps!? or 90 lbs for 50 reps? or is it 90kgs for 50 reps?
