Marvin you are doing great. Don't be so hard on yourself. Squats were really good. Gains are coming I can see it.

Lisa, I have to be my own toughest critic.....my days of thinking every W/O was great...even when they weren't have to be over for me to move ahead. I understand some will not be as good as others, but I have to recognize sub par ones, and correct them.

Wednesday 5-1-13
Week 3, Day 3

Bench Aux

Pin Press:
45 x 10
95 x 8
135 x 10
155 x 10
145 x 9
140 x 10

ANOTHER first time exercise...I tried to really explode the weight up, and completely rest it on the pins at the bottom, then explode it up again...I really fatigued quick on these.doing it that way

Mil Press:
45 x 6
65 x 6
75 x 6
85 x 6
95 x 6
100 x 4

These felt good...one of my favorites

Mil Press Drop Sets:
60 x 15
60 x 15

These were supposed to be for speed....and they started out that way...by rep 8-9-10 they were slowing down, and by rep 13-14-15, I was taking 2-3 deep breaths between each rep.....but in the end my shoulders were very fatigued and felt very "heavy"

Timed Hammer Curls (1 minute timed sets)
15 x 30
20 x 21
20 x 16
15 x 21

again, another first time doing these. I wasnt sure if I should do 1 arm at a time, or both at once, so I did both at once. A minute can sure feel like a lot longer sometimes....enough said about that.

I really felt like crap yesterday, seems that in the last couple of days,everyone in my house has gotten sick with some kind of 24 hr bug. Guess yesterday was my turn, I BRIEFLY thought about skipping, but I have always said...you skip one workout, you will skip another....then another...then you are back on the couch drinking beer and weighing 270 lbs again....and THAT will NOT happen!

Diet seems to be working well with those numbers, and it's good to see you make small adjustments as necessary as I think a slow gain is optimum for uz old folks haha.

I reckon training whilst sick is a judgement call I would base on severity as I think training may take away some of the body's ability get well. This is just my opinion. As always, it biols down to listening to the bawd.

Gotta like all the new lifts JB's program intoduces to most of us. I really like those pin presses!
