Default Bench'n

Going to the beach this weekend so I went ahead and did ohp with my bench work.

warm up: rolling, band work

Felt strong so..

Planned on only doing 3 but did an extra rep

Ohp
close grip
wide grip
dumbbell side raises
face pulls

I am really loving the Schultze Strength Method. When you leave the gym you know you just lifted some damn weight!! If your in the business of lifting heavy weight and want to get stronger, get on the SS method

how did you like doing OHP following bench? Thought about doing a little of that as well.

Honestly it was brutal. We didnt go heavy. I think we did our sets with like 165 and struggled haha
I did like it though. shoulders and triceps were pretty much cooked when we got through

warm ups: TKEs, sled dragging, band work

Calves

Played around with some positioning on the speed pulls. Pulling raw I find I need to open my stance up some and turn my toes out to bring my hips closer to the bar. I pull with a much closer stance in my gear. Also trying to keep my back a little more flattish at the beginning of the pull. 365 moved pretty good considering how sore I am from yesterdays workout. I planned on doing a lot more back work today but ran out of time. Good thing too because I was beat lol! Now off to the beach to eat tons of food and drink too much beer!!!!

Embarrassed to say this is the heaviest weight I have ever attempted raw. Everything moved very easy but cut them about an 1'' high like the high squatter that I am.. I actually felt like they were close until I watched the video. really wanted to make an attempt at 600 for my third set of doubles but decided to let that wait until the next block since I couldn't get the 565 to depth. On a plus side my quads are finally starting to take the punishment! All the extra work has made my quads much stronger.

Pause squats

Front squats
195x5
235x5
255x5

double kbell swings
quad ext.

After only a couple weeks on this program I can tell a huge difference in my raw strength. I cant wait to see where my numbers are after the second block

I start with speed tonight 335 for 10 sets of 3. My goal is to go well over 7 in the squat before I put any gear back on. We will get there buddy Im looking forward to the challenge. Going to be different getting away from the pouch.

I hope so. I used to have a strong raw squat. I always used to warm up heavy then put on my gear but squatting wide has killed my hips so I have to brief up early out of pain. Raw bench has always sucked but since I added in direct shoulder work its gotten much better.
