Normal for newbs.

Sorry for the lack of updates to those following.

2 reasons.

One being that I've been insanely busy so haven't really had any time to sit down for half an hour.

2nd been that nothings really changed and there's some problems.

Basically the same things happened that happened every other attempt at cracking this lifting thing.

I get so far, and progressions going great, but then all of a sudden I become weak, and weight that was fine for me to handle previous workouts now becomes an impossible task.

This hasn't happened with all my lifts, but I fear they might be going in the same direction.

I realize that it isn't actually stalling as I, or you might have thought.
I'm not adding too much to the bar, and then not getting my reps and sets in, I'm going along fine, and then all of a sudden I become weak, like I said.

For example, with bench press today. I hit my 5 sets last week, so I added 2 pounds extra on.
I could only manage the first set with this extra 2 pounds, which was fine, I'd just carry on working up with that weight on each workout until I hit 5x5, then I'd add more weight and repeat the process like you guys told me to.

That wasn't the problem.

What happened was after I realized I couldn't complete the second set, I dropped the weight to last workouts weight, and found I could barley lift that either, even though I'd managed it fine the previous workout.

Granted, this could've been because the heavier weight on the first set depleted me so much.

After that I went onto one arm rows, and a similar thing happened, although this could've been due to the fact I was then in a negative mindset after the bench pressing.

Now, this could just be a bad session, I hope.

This has been the cause of my stalling every single time, and I'm starting to wonder weather if I'd have just carried on, everything would've turned out ok.

Some exercises are going alright for now though. Squats, deads, dips, and military press (finally), seem to be alright and aren't suffering from this problem.

I';m not going to lie, its put a dampener on things. I just hope its a one off situation.

Any ideas what to do? Should I just carry on and hope its just a bad session?

Kind of worried too now that all the food I've eaten is going to go to fat or else wear. Not my muscles thats for sure.

I refuse to make the same mistake I made last time though and start the whole thing over again. I have to push through it.

Carry on as planned, if it happens again on the same exercises, drop the weight to a comfortable 5x5 (or whatever) and rework up.

It happens to all of us, tonight I could only do 285lbs 1x on my 1+.. and my 1RM is 300lbs.. sh*t happens. Went on to do more chin-ups than usual, and do 5 complete sets with higher weight on barbell curls..
