It's not fully designed by me, i'm taking a few parts from stronglifts.com 5x5 program. I'm only sticking to this program for two months before I make my move to westside style..thinking i'll start competing in powerlifting sometime next year..

Good to see another future competitor. There are some Wendler's 5/3/1 fans here, and some Westside guys. Also, Jwood is running Sheiko.

exactly. i enjoy this site because everyone is supportive..what kind of program are you on? also, i'm having the hardest time finding lifting partners, but it will come...

I run my own style. I am not really a bodybuilder or powerlifter, but I like both and train for size and strength.

I am trying a full body approach right now, with an emphasis on a rep/set style similar to old school strongman Doug Hepburn's.

That's cool..i like following my own style as well and i always train for size and strength..but since i may be training to compete i think i should train the style all the powerlifters swear by, or i may just have to try to experiment with my own powerlifting training..

but back to old school training..thats why i like the program i'm on now because all it asks for is a barbell and a squat rack and just doing compound movements..can't wait to get back into the gym tomorrow

Hit it hard!

I find that when I train for powerlifting, I tend to overextend myself. I'm better off gaining strength just doing what I do.

Finally got back into the gym today..it's been some time off for me and i think i'm still digesting the turkey..

Todays Workout:

Squat (parallel box) 5x5 @ 285
Bench Press 3x5 @ 245 then 2x5 @ 235 *think i went too heavy on these
Hang Cleans 5x5 @ 135 *getting tired by now
Cable Seated Row 5x5 @ 210

Overall it felt good to be back in the gym but mentally i didn't feel i was fully there.

Nice workout. that's darn close to what I'm doing. head over to Wisconsin, I could use a training partner...

Well just got my shipment of LG BC+EAA, and my Kre-Alkalyn..I'll be logging in..and posting some pics up for the progress of getting bigger and stronger..right now only 185..trying for 200!
