IPA. There were 75 lifters, but honestly almost all of the big competition was in geared. I can see why people go there for the comp.

Great job getting a decent first total Jiorio - it was really close to your goal and you know for a fact you will progress for the next one. Indeed, first meets are to get your feet wet and to learn a few things, and hopefully meet someone who can help you or even a new friend.

Nice work on the bench getting that 245 on the next attempt!

Thanks guys. There is a meet at my gym Nov 19th so I will wreck that total in a few weeks. It was a great time and it was very fun to be around people pulling for everyone there. There was no competition between people, everyone was competing against there past totals it seemed.

A couple of really cool things I saw:
- Lots of state and world record attempts
- 145lbs guy squat over 500, bench 360 and pull over 600
- 810 bench
- guy from my gym set state record in squat for masters

I definitly enjoyed it and it won't be my last. I'll try to get the pics and lift videos soon and post them up.

My family didnt come down, but my wife helped me out by running both of the kids around all day so I could do this.

Back in the gym today with the goal of having fun. Fun for me is 5x5 so this is what I did.

Squats: 5x5x235
Bench: 5x5x190 - Paused
Row: 5x5x135
Shrugs: 3x8x245
Skullcrushers: 3x8x45

Weighted hypers: 2x10
