Roughly 3 weeks out from my first meet. Weight is good at 176lbs so I can keep eating like crazy since the next limit is 181lbs. What I learned today is that 275 will be a good opener for me since I know I can get triples on it no problem. 531 won't line up perfectly with the meet, so I can on finishing this week as planned, going back and repeating Week 2, ramping up to singles the week after that, deload week, then meet. Should be fun!

Need to reset press soon, I'd like to drop it down and get more volume out of the last set.

Strong work. Dat press though, I hear ya - it's pretty much ilke that for just about everyone: resetting more than you'd like, getting one more rep being a big[ger] thing, etc.

A cow of a lift, yet still, one of my favourite.

A wise decision, probably, to go for more reps over grinding the same weight, or trying a little more.

You do those presses seated or standing? Not that it matters, just curious.

Yea it's 3 forward, 2 back type of a lift. Honestly, I'm not all that concerned with it... as long as bench, squat and deadlift keep moving forward.

C5W3D4 = Cycle 5, Week 3, Day 4 of the 5/3/1 program I am currently running. It is a powerlifting program that emphasizes setting PR's at reps and weights while also incorporating some periodization with a high rep, moderate rep, low rep work. I like it and will probably use it through the end of the year at least, made some good gains on it.

Deadlifted today with the goal that I wanted to leave today's session with a clear idea of what my opener was going to be for the meet.

5x135
3x225
3x315
2x365

Sitting Calfs: 3x10x90

365 feels like a good deadlift opener, I'll jump to 385 on 2nd attempt. Pass that then go for a PR on 3rd.
