Thanks Brute, Elite.

Today's George Peppard fact When George was playing Boston-based detective Banacek, he was fond of saying 'you should see the Banacheck I'm getting!' Occasionally, for English listeners, he would substitute Banacheque. He made this pun 19,548 times over his two year stint in the series. His wife left him as a result.

Sunday

Feeling somewhat nauseous after today's workout. Weights ranged from v light (front squats) to relatively heavy (DB press). Cleaning the DBs seems to take a lot out of me. I'm just going to use them dirty next time.

Pleased with progress on DB press.

Light front squats

Warm ups
100 (220) X 5
100 (220) X 5
100 (220) X 5

Parallel grip pull ups

6, 5, 5, 5

Standing strict DB press

Warm ups
32 (70s) X 6
34 (75s) X 5
34 (75s) X 5

Flat DB bench press

46 (102s) X 7
46 (102s) X 7

Solid work Tann. This may well be the best training log title on MAB

I LOVED the A-Team growing up.

I loved them growing up too, except when they hit puberty.

Today's George Peppard fact

George landed the part of James Bond in Goldfinger. However, when filming began, George felt that he needed to bring some vulnerability to Bond, and that the best way to do this was to give him a debilitating stutter.

In one of the first scenes, the script called for George to say: 'The name is Bond - James Bond.'

This is how George chose to deliver it:

Bond: 'The n-n-n...the nur-nur-nur-nur...nnnnn. The nur.......the nurrr...n-n-n-n-n-n. The nurrrrrr [stamps foot in frustration]...The N! The N! The Nurr -nurr [punches himself in face]...The NNN! NNN! The NAARRRR..! [falls to floor, weeping and scrabbling at carpet]...NURRRR![then takes a deep breath, tries to slow his breathing]..THENAMESBONDJAMESBOND!'

Pussy Galore: Pardon?

Cubby Broccoli fired him the next day.

Sunday's training

A surprisingly successful day's training. Surprising because I'd had a stomach bug for three days that really knocked me about. But came roaring back today. V pleased with DB press, though cleaning them up was hard work.

Deadlifts

Warm ups
200 (442) X 2
200 (442) X 2
200 (442) X 2
200 (442) X 2
200 (442) X 2

Wide grip pulldowns

I cant remember the poundages. Not very heavy. 77kg I think. About four sets.

Standing DB strict overhead press

Warm ups
36 (80s) X 3
36 (80s) X 3
36 (80s) X 3
30 (66s) X 10

Overhead squats

20 (44) X 10
20 (44) X 10

Many thanks guys.

Today's George Peppard fact

One thing George could never understand was the concept of mime. Throughout his life, he referred to mime artists as 'those white-faced mental people'. If he saw a mime artist performing on the street, George would immediately put him in a headlock, shouting that he was making a citizen's arrest.

Friday My back has been hurting all week, so I had to be a bit careful on this session.

Front squats

Warm ups
100 (220) X 3
110 (242) X 3
120 (265) X 3
130 (286) X 2
140 (308) X 1

Seated cable rows

78 (172) X 10
84 (185) X 8, 8
89 (200) X 7, 7

Standing overhead DB press

warm ups
30 (66s) X 6
34 (75s) X 6, 5, 4
30 (66s) X 10

Sunday

Good session today. Back still hurting, so I avoided deadlifts. Enjoyed the overhead squata.

Lat pulldowns

78 (172) X 8
84 (185) X 6, 6, 6

DB bench press

48 (106s) X 6, 6, 6 ,6

Overhead squats

20 (44) X 15
30 (66) X 10
35 (77) X 8
40 (88) X 6

Cheat curls in the squat rack

60 (132) X 5, 4, 4

Excellent. Let's start a club.

Today's George Peppard fact What was George's favourite ocean? The Atlantic Ocean? The mighty Pacific Ocean? The pristine Arctic Ocean? The exotic Indian Ocean? No. No, it was none of these. It was the Billy Ocean.

Tuesday Not very strong on front squats at the moment (I need much more frequency to improve if I keep volume this low). However, very pleased with overhead DB press. 40 X 2 is a step forward - cleaning them was tough. Murders my back but good fun.

Front squats

80 (176) X 5
120 (265) X 4
120 (265) X 4
130 (286) X 2

34 (75s) X 2
38 (84s) X 3
38 (84s) X 3
38 (84s) X 4
