Thanks - my pressing for reps seems to have come on a bit. It's the 1RM that remains unimpressive.

The knee was aggravated by leg extensions - it's not the first time my knee has started clonking after doing them.

Not a bad session. Not very good on bench press, but everything else good. I tried wide grip straight bar chins and enjoyed them. The v light rows was demanding with 30s rest periods.

Thanks OR. I was tempted to do some leg extensions today, but your words tolled in my head like a great bell and I heeded them.

I had planned to do more squats, but my back pinged after the second set with 400. Reduced it to 300 and still felt painful, so no OR chasing this session. The back will be fine, I'm reasonably sure, but I have learned to listen to these warning twinges from my ageing body. Ignoring them is disastrous.

I used a carbon copy of my last lower body workout on leg presses. Hot as Hades in the gym and a colony of flies seem to have moved in, so the SLDL's I pencilled in got pencilled out again..

Monday

It was so hot in the gym today that one of my eyes melted and formed a sluggish, viscous glacier down my cheek. A mixed session: pleased with performance on chins, disappointed with pressing. I seem to be able to do the reps but not the weight. Two reps with 90 was right at my limit. After the fast-n-light sets of back, there was no way I was bench pressing in these conditions, so did a few flyes as a poor substitute.
