No adversity to overcome?

I'm not sure too many people are squatting anything for 12 reps....that's good stuff.

Nothing to regret IMO.

Thanks for the thoughts, chaps. JD - take a look at OR's journal - he's high repping every session .

Sunday

Tearing it up today. Good session. First time over 300lbs on bench since I started back training on it, but just as pleased with the 265 X 8. Lots of pumping work on back as I'm trying not to stress my bicep tendon. Having said that, I worked the three heavy sets hard, and I'm pleased with 100kg (220) X 6. Pleased again with 80 (176) X 5 for press, though each set was right at the limit of what I could do.

Fat loss seems to be going OK...I managed to get the belt on hole no. 5. I've done this before, but then needed the Air Ambulance team to get me back out of it, whereas today I did it on my own.

Bench Press

Warm ups
100 (220) X 3
120 (265) X 2
130 (286) X 1
137.5 (303) X 2

Pulldowns

39 (87) X 12
39 (87) X 12

Well done.

Belt PR. . . That cracked me up Mike.

Tann, funny how a so-so session is usually followed by a great session. Congrats on that bench press. Nowhere to go but up.

Thanks Mike, OR

Tuesday

A mega-successful session today, despite the fact that the gym was like the inside of a Bessemer converter. Very pleased with the 75% press challenge and even more pleased with 220 (485) X 4 on deads. That's not a million miles away from my lifetime best deadlift reps of 227.5 (500) X 5.

Couldn't face squats, and my knee has been a bit funny from doing leg extensions anyway. Chickened out and did leg press, which I enjoyed.

75% bodyweight strict standing press

40 (88) X 2
60 (132) X 2
60 (132) X 2
73* (161) X 12

* we have some lightweight collars that weigh about 0.5 kg to make sure I didn't cut even the slightest bit of weight.

Deadlifts

Warm ups
130 (286) X 2
150 (331) X 2
180 (398) X 2
200 (442) X 1
220 (485) X 2
220 (485) X 2
220 (485) X 4

Leg Press

Warm ups
210 (464) X 5
290 (640) X 12
310 (684) X 12
310 (684) X 12
310 (684) X 12
310 (684) X 12
310 (684) X 15

The iron is there during my times of happiness, sadness and anger. The iron is there available through the 4 seasons and inclement weather. The iron is there to either comfort me or motivate me. The Iron manages to show me how strong I am or how humble I need to be. The iron does not yell, but it always demands respect. The iron is not a disciplinarian, but when disrespected, I feel it for a long time. The iron does not love or hate, but we definitely share a strong bond. And no matter how far I stay away or for how long, the iron is there, waiting to be lifted.

Awesome deads. Stunning press though. 12 with 75%!?! I'm either way too weak or way too fat! Holy Moly. Hmmmm. I can probably hit 12 with 120, so to be as strong as you, I have to diet down to 160 BW. Oof!

Great work Tann. Take care of that knee.

Thanks OR, Moe.

Mike - thanks for the thoughts. There would be something very wrong if I wasn't a bit stronger than you. Don't forget I've been doing this for years; you're still a newbie in comparison.
