Thanks guys. Mrs Al is training now. I'll be off when she's back. Mini's entire life is one long training session. She is currently running sprints from the back door to the front door waving balloons at the poor cat. Active family right here

Some good, some not so good and some ugly (me shirtless and sweaty)

Foam roll and band stretch for my shoulders and lats

Sumo Deadlifts
70kgs x lots
110kgs x 3, 3
Switch to hook grip and belt on
150kgs x 1
Add suit bottoms
150kgs x 1
160kgs x 1
170kgs x 1, 1
180kgs x 1, 0, 0
150kgs x LOADS of singles. Probably around 10.

Snatch grip pulls, beltless
70kgs x 8
90kgs x 8
100kgs x 8

Barbell rows
100kgs x 10
120kgs x 10, 6

Today my plan was to work up slowly and work on Clint and Marshall's advice to tighten my lats more and try to pull back. As I worked up, it was looking good. Back was much flatter and lockout was powerful. I managed 180kgs ok the first time but couldn't replicate the set-up on the next two and stuck on my thighs or fell back. Dropped the weight down and worked around 150. Quite a few more reps where I got halfway and then fell over but the last one on the video below was one of my best of the day so was a good way to finish. This was the first time I have ever done snatch pulls from the floor and I was really pleased with my form here. They have taught me the feeling that I need to have at the start of a sumo pull. Made progress on rows again as well so overall progress was made I think.

Haha. Looking good lately. Hardly a fatty anymore. I'm pretty sure I outweight you these days and Blake himself would be disappointed in my moobs and belly!

Tough day at the office, but awesome perseverance. You'll get those pesky deadlifts shaped up soon enough Al. Just keep plugging away. Very inspiring.

Poor cat indeed, but wait until there's two or three ganging up on him. He doesn't know how good he has it right now.

Thanks Mike. I'd like to be leaner but not at the expense of strength so it's on the back burner for now.

I had a eureka moment during the snatch pulls yesterday where I felt what it was like to really load my hamstrings and use them instead of just my back. Hoping I can mimic this on regular pulls this Sunday.

Yeah I always film deadlifts as I am constantly analysing what I'm doing wrong

Going to do a little session after work tonight I think. Just a loosener to get some blood flowing.
